Interpersonal Therapy

Interpersonal therapy focuses on getting the patient to regain control of functioning and mood so they can regain control of relationships and behaviors. Interpersonal therapy, also called IPT, is based on the idea that the individual mental health impacts how they interact and communicate with others. IPT is time-limited, most often lasting anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks. After that time, the treatment goal should have been attained.

Interpersonal therapy can be used to treat many mental health disorders, including depression. IPT has been found effective in clinical trials for treating acute depression episodes and delaying and preventing any future episodes. We offer many kinds of therapy options here at our facility, including IPT. To learn more about IPT, call us to speak with one of our experienced staff members.
